Ontinyent center: car 5 minutes, walking 23 minutes, cycling 9 minutes: .
The old town of Ontinyent has some beautiful sights that you should not miss.
For example, you can visit the old medieval city center of Barrio de la Vila where you can get lost. You will see many colored houses and apartments, narrow steep streets, beautiful gates, colored domes and old stairs. Ontinyent served for years as a defense against the Arabs, among others.
And that is reflected in this old barrio . You can still see a very large part of the old city wall, towers and fortresses.
Ontinyent also has many restaurants. Keep in mind the siesta times and that the Spaniards ‘dine’ from 20:00 and the kitchen opens then too. We recommend making a reservation in advance.
Are you sporty?
Then this area certainly has a lot to offer. There are many walking routes, beautiful motorbike and cycling routes. In addition, there is a tennis club 2 minutes away, with a great restaurant and of course views.

Forest/mountain: +-5 minutes walking:
From the Casa Josa , turn left directly out of the gate to the forest. For very beautiful surroundings for a nice walk, short or long, mountain biking and especially to enjoy the peace and the natural view.
Pou Clar : 8 minutes by car, walking +- 1 hour, cycling +- 20 minutes:
Pou Clar is a natural park with a stretch of river that consists of a succession of channels, waterfalls and swimming pools. All this is completely natural, with many trees and hiking trails and picnic tables.
No matter how hot it is, the spring water always remains about the same freshness. There are shallow places where you can easily step through, but there are also pools that are several meters deep.
We advise you to bring water shoes to protect your feet against the slippery stones on the bottom.
Textiel museum Ontinyent :
Ontinyent was one of the textile places of the Valencia region and all of Spain. To learn more about this golden period of Ontinyent , you can take a look at the textile museum here, the entrance is free.
Sant Esteve view from Ontinyent : car 17 minutes, bike 40 minutes:
The climb to Sant Esteve can be done on foot from the detour (approximately 4.5 kilometers in total), by bike (it’s a tough climb, but doable) or by car, as the road is in good condition , asphalted and there is a parking lot.
It is a beautiful late 17th century hermitage (probably between 1666 and 1702, although there are documents dating back to 1666), with spectacular views, a construction located on the outskirts of the town, about 8 kilometers away, on the road that goes from Ontinyent to Moixent .
From the top at about 780 meters above sea level and on a hill, you can see the city and a great panoramic view of the entire valley and the mountains that surround the area, one of the most spectacular places in the province of Valencia for total disconnection.
Rio Bolbaite : car 40 minutes:
A natural dazzling environment , perfect to spend a day relaxing and cooling off in the unique spring water, which is crystal clear blue. Take a bath in the middle of nature.
It is a Rio in the area of the source of the Tuéjar River. There you will find a natural swimming pool with crystal clear water, the Pozo de las Escaleras . The temperature of the water does not exceed 18 degrees. The area has an inviting nature for walking and getting to know the Flora Micro reserve, which brings together black poplars, willows, baladres, oleanders and white poplars. You will also find the Villanueva ditch, the Tudela bridge, the Saz fountain, a Roman dam and the Peña del Mediodía viewpoint.
